Our purpose

The BEP Committee builds a collaborative relationship between local businesses and educational institutions, enhancing the quality of education, preparing students for success with real-world insights, and providing local companies with a world-class workforce.

Who's at the table

Educators and employers, side by side

K–12 schools

Career and technical education (CTE) leaders from our area school districts, plus representatives from local private schools.

Higher education

TSTC, Northeast Lakeview College New Braunfels, Texas Lutheran University, Howard Payne University, and more.

Chamber members

Local businesses and nonprofits who want to help build the next generation of talent in New Braunfels.

What we do

We connect classrooms with careers

Each month, the committee brings educators and employers together to share what's happening in our schools and workplaces, spot opportunities to partner, and plan programs that prepare students for real jobs right here at home.

Our signature event

YOUTH

CareerQuest

Planned and hosted by the BEP Committee, Youth CareerQuest brings 8th graders from across New Braunfels and Comal County face to face with local employers through hands-on career exploration, right before they choose their high school programs of study.

Teacher of the Year Luncheon

Each year the committee also hosts the Teacher of the Year Luncheon, celebrating outstanding local educators. This year's luncheon has already taken place. Watch for next year's date.
